The Sunflower Communicator

Keeping the Sunflower Community informed
with the latest news and announcements.

The Sunflower Communicator newsletter was established by the Board of Directors as a service to community residents. A newsletter will be sent out as an email whenever there is important information to share with the community – for example, announcements, cancellations or corrections. Note that the newsletters do not take the place of the Sun Catcher or the Sunflowerliving Website.

To sign up, send an email to with your lot number and name, and all future newsletters will be sent to the email address from which you sent your request.

Signing up for the newsletter will NOT result in your email address being added to the Association's email database.  Likewise, providing your email address to the Association – e.g., giving it to a Service Coordinator at the front desk – will NOT result in you being subscribed to the newsletter.

Please note:

Some email programs, as well as email providers, will sometimes treat newsletter emails as spam. To ensure that you receive the issues of the Communicator that are being sent to you, please add the email address to your email program’s contacts list (or address book) and email provider’s “whitelist”. (Or, if allowed by your email system, just the domain name You can find instructions for doing that here.  Although the purpose of that site is is to help subscribers to a particular company’s newsletter, the general information is applicable to subscribers of the Sunflower Communicator as well. When following instructions on that site, replace instances of with and instances of with Ignore references to

If your email app requests a name to go with the Maiser email address, just make up something.

Special Instructions for AOL Users

Many Communicator subscribers using AOL email experience problems ranging from never receiving the newsletter to missing occasional copies. The following will usually, but not always, correct the problem.

Add to your AOL address book:

New Subscribers:

  1. Click the Mail menu and select "Address Book".
  2. Wait for the "Address Book" window to pop up, then click the "Add" button.
  3. Wait for the "Address Card for New Contact" window to load.
  4. Once loaded, type in the "Other E-Mail" field.
  5. Make this address the "Primary E-Mail" address by checking the corresponding checkbox.
  6. Click the Save button.

Existing Subscribers:

If you are already a subscriber but the newsletters aren't getting through, the email may be in your AOL Spam Folder. Open web mail and look in your Spam Folder. If your find our email in your spam folder, open it and click the "This Is Not Spam" button. Then add to your Address Book as outlined in the "New Subscribers" instructions above.
