1.         POOL UPDATE: The repairs to the existing heater was completed today. Please know that the water temperature may not get up to temperature until Monday. Thank you for your patience.

2.         DRAFTED POLICY CHANGES: The webteam has created a new link on the website to view the drafted policy changes online. It is located under  resident information> governing documents.

3.       STRATEGIC TASK FORCE: The Strategic Task Force is in need of volunteers. If you are interested in joining the task force. Please submit a volunteer application to the front desk
4.         BOARD MEETINGS: The next Board Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 15th at 10:00am. The Board will have an Executive Session (Closed Meeting- per ARS Section 33-1804 / 33-1248 (A) (2) (3) (5)) starting at 8:45am and another directly following the open Board Meeting. The meetings will be conducted via Zoom and in person. Additional information to log into the meeting will be sent out separately.

5.         DONATIONS NEEDED: The Vintage Gardeners are filling gift bags with travel-sized toiletries, hygiene, and off-the-shelf drug-store medicinal items for Sr. Jose's shelter that helps homeless women. We're asking Sunflower residents for donations. Unused "S.W.A.G."" handouts from local fairs & travels are perfect for this purpose as well as dollar store items. POOL PARTY - Sponsored by the Activities Committee - FREE Pool Party on Wednesday, December 15th from 4:30 to 7:30 (New day and time). Bring your drinks and food in non-glass containers. DJ Mike will provide music with a few holiday songs in the mix. All pool parties are adults only.
TRUNK SHOW - Sponsored by the Activities Committee. Shopping extravaganza! The 'Chique Boutique' Trunk Show--Thursday Dec 16, 2021 1:00pm-6:00pm Fiesta room. Women's clothing, purses and jewelry for sale. Men-how about that gift for your wife or significant other? Ladies-5 hours of shopping-shop till you drop! Bring on the bling!
7.         FITNESS CLUB:

Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30 to 11:30 AM for December (except Dec 16 which is 9:30 to 10:30 am)
No classes December 21st, December 23rd, Dec 27th, Dec, 30th
Also, No classes Jan 4th and Jan 6th
Times for classes are still 10:30 to 11:30 throughout the New Year
8.         POTLUCK Host and Kitchen Volunteers: We are in need of host/hostess for March through December 2022 potlucks. We also need volunteers to help in the kitchen for the potlucks. Anyone interested, please contact me at 540-538-6502 or

9.         BINGO: BINGO will be next Tuesday in the Fiesta Room, doors open at 5:30.  A special "Ugly Sweater" contest will be held.  Wear your ugliest.  We are working on a way for Rosie to judge the contest virtually, and the winner will get a special prize!!! 
10.      TRAVEL CLUB: Our Sales Desk will be on Wednesday, December 15th from 1:00 to 3:00.  We'll be selling tickets for "Gypsy" at the Arizona Broadway Theatre in Peoria on February 6th.  $115 includes performance, lunch, transportation and gratuities.  Bus leaves at 9:30 and we'll be back around 7:00.  Sales will continue for the January 21st Mesa Market Place trip.  $35.  Details in Sun Catcher.  $1 Membership dues payable when signing up for your first trip.
11.      DANCE CLUB: There are still New Year's Eve spots open and are inviting all guests to get their tickets. Please call Shirley Nellson at 520-904-7478 and get yours Today! Only $15.00 pp. All Genres of music will be played
12.      TECH CLUB: Remember, you can become a member of the Tech Club at any time. You get exclusive access to the Tech Lab, Tech Talks and Sunday Help Sessions.  Club members also get access to the Pro Zoom account and some special accommodations in the tech lab when needed.

13.      VINTAGE GARDENERS: Vintage Gardeners Christmas luncheon at Firebirds next Monday Dec 13 at 12 noon - don't forget your charitable gift of travel size products for St Josie Women's Shelter.

14.      SIDEWALK ISSUES/CONCERNS: If you see that a sidewalk needs repair and is by a public road, please contact Marana Public Works at 520-382-2600 to report the issues/concern. If you see that a sidewalk on the walking path along the wash needs repair, please let the front desk know.
15.      PET REMINDERS: To those residents with pets, please remember to pick up after them. Please remember it is the pet owner's responsibility to clean up after their pet. Please know the landscape maintenance staff is not allowed to handle any type of hazardous materials that have the potential to carry any bloodborne pathogens. Per Arizona leash law, your dog is to be on a leash and controlled when in any common area.
