1.         KEEPING SUNFLOWER BEAUTIFUL: Thank you to the very kind residents who have removed weeds. We appreciate all of your kindness in keeping Sunflower beautiful.

2.         DRAFTED POLICY CHANGES: The webteam has created a new link on the website to view the drafted policy changes online. It is located under  Resident Information > Governing Documents.  Contact the Front Desk if you need login information.

3.       STRATEGIC TASK FORCE: The Strategic Task Force is in need of volunteers. If you are interested in joining the task force. Please submit a volunteer application to the front desk.

4.         DONATIONS NEEDED: The Vintage Gardeners are filling gift bags with travel-sized toiletries, hygiene, and off-the-shelf drug-store medicinal items for Sr. Jose's shelter that helps homeless women. We're asking Sunflower residents for donations. Unused "S.W.A.G." handouts from local fairs & travels are perfect for this purpose as well as dollar store items. For drop-off/pick-ups please call Lois, 447-5363; Suzanne, 820-4604; Teresa, 878-8182; or Nancy, 400-4718.

Game Night - Game night will be held today, December 3rd in the Fiesta Room starting at 6:30pm. of fun. Bring your friends and neighbors or come alone and we will match you up with a group. Please bring your favor game to share with others. There will be a small variety of games available if you forget to bring yours.
Holiday Luminaria Party - On Saturday, December 4th, we are having our holiday luminaria celebration, so grab your ugly Christmas sweater and meet up at the Village Center. We have food trucks and a variety of music to get you "in the spiri" of the season!! Starting at 4PM, BYOB and snacks for Happy Hour in the Fiesta Room where Crazy Rhythm will be playing until about 5:30. Food Trucks will start serving around 4PM for dining in the Fiesta Room. The fireplace will warm up the patio in time for dining alfresco. DJ Mike will be playing holiday music. Come share some holiday spirit with your Sunflower neighbors!
POOL PARTY - Sponsored by the Activities Committee - FREE Pool Party on Wednesday, December 15th from 4:30 to 7:30 (New day and time). Bring your drinks and food in non-glass containers. DJ Mike will provide music with a few holiday songs in the mix. All pool parties are adults only.
TRUNK SHOW - Sponsored by the Activities Committee. Shopping extravaganza! The 'Chique Boutique' Trunk Show--Thursday Dec 16, 2021 1:00pm-6:00pm Fiesta room. Women's clothing, purses and jewelry for sale. Men-how about that gift for your wife or significant other? Ladies-5 hours of shopping-shop til you drop! Bring on the bling!
6.         FITNESS CLUB:

Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30 to 11:30 AM for December (except Dec 16 which is 9:30 to 10:30 am)
No classes December 21st, December 23rd, Dec 27th, Dec, 30th
Also, No classes Jan 4th and Jan 6th
Times for classes are still 10:30 to 11:30 throughout the New Year
7.         POTLUCK Host and Kitchen Volunteers: We are in need of host/hostess for March through December 2022 potlucks. We also need volunteers to help in the kitchen for the potlucks. Anyone interested, please contact me at 540-538-6502 or

8.         PICKLEBALL CLUB: We have decided to postpone the Pickleball Club Tournament until January.  Hopefully, the snowbirds will all be back and will be able to participate in the tournament.
Since everyone is so busy, we have decided to postpone the Christmas Caroling until next year.  This year we decided to have a Christmas Party with a White Elephant Gift Exchange.
WHAT:            Pickleball Club Christmas White Elephant Gift Exchange
WHEN:           December 8, 2021
TIME:              5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
WHERE:         Center Back Patio and Craft Room
RULES:  The Pickleball Club will provide the Hot Apple Cider.  You bring whatever you would like to drink with the Hot Apple Cider.  We are asking you bring your favorite Christmas Cookies or dessert to share.  A dozen will be fine.  Please do NOT go out and shop for this white elephant gift exchange.  We would like you to wrap up something you already have in your house that you no longer want or need (clean, reusable item. No naughty gifts!) Each club member needs to bring a wrapped gift, gender neutral if possible.  
All current Pickleball Club members and those who are wanting to become members who missed the meeting on Sunday, November 14, 2021, please pay your annual Pickleball Club dues at the Sunflower Center front desk.  You will need to fill out a new information form and pay $10.00 by check
The evening players will be extending their playing time due to overcrowding as follows:
Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings  5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Monday and Friday evenings 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
9.         TRAVEL CLUB: We will be selling tickets on Wednesday, December 15th, from 1:00 to 3:00 for our January 21st trip to the Mesa Marketplace.  Tickets are $35 plus $1 dues.  Check the December Sun Catcher for more details.
10.      SOCIAL CLUB: Our last ticket sales date for our December 18th "Holiday Festivities" dinner will be on Thursday, December 9th, from 10:00 to Noon.  We will serve a ham dinner followed by a holiday program.  Tickets are $10. 

  11.      DANCE CLUB: The Dance Club is sponsoring the New Year's Eve Dance on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021. Ticket sales are Fri. Dec. 3rd---noon to 3 p.m. and Wed. Dec. 15th 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The price is only $15.00 pp. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
12.      TECH CLUB: New passwords - the new passwords came out on December 1st - available to all paid Technology Club members. Stickers with the new passwords are available at the front desk. These passwords are for the exclusive member access to the tech lab computers and WiFi. To join the club get an application from the front desk.

13.      GENEAOLOGY CLUB: Come and join us during our Membership Drive at the Village Center on Thursday, December 9th from 1-3pm.

14.      SIDEWALK ISSUES/CONCERNS: If you see that a sidewalk needs repair and is by a public road, please contact Marana Public Works at 520-382-2600 to report the issues/concern. If you see that a sidewalk on the walking path along the wash needs repair, please let the front desk know.
15.      PET REMINDERS: To those residents with pets, please remember to pick up after them. Please remember it is the pet owner's responsibility to clean up after their pet. Please know the landscape maintenance staff is not allowed to handle any type of hazardous materials that have the potential to carry any bloodborne pathogens. Per Arizona leash law, your dog is to be on a leash and controlled when in any common area
