1.         KEEPING SUNFLOWER BEAUTIFUL: Thank you to Margo and Del for years of helping keep Sunflower beautiful.

2.         WEB TEAM: The WEB TEAM would like to remind all of the clubs and groups to review their postings on the Sunflower website under resident information and then Club/Groups. Information such as contacts, meeting dates/times responsible for keeping their information current.
Please submit changes or cancellation of postings to webteam@sunflowerliving.com.

3.       STRATEGIC TASK FORCE: The Strategic Task Force is in need of volunteers. If you are interested in joining the task force. Please submit a volunteer application to the front desk.

4.         PET REMINDERS: To those residents with pets, please remember to pick up after them. Please remember it is the pet owner's responsibility to clean up after their pet. Please know the landscape maintenance staff is not allowed to handle any type of hazardous materials that have the potential to carry any blood borne pathogens. Per Arizona leash law, your dog is to be on a leash and controlled when in any common area. 

5.         HOLIDAY HOURS: The Village Center hours on November 24th will be from 7:30am-2:00pm and we will be CLOSED on Thanksgiving Day, November 25th.

6.         BINGO: We will have BINGO on November 23rd in the fiesta room starting at 5:30pm. Hope to see you there.

7.         POOL TILE CLEANING: The pool will be closed Thursday, December 2nd all day due to the pool tile cleaning. It will be opened again on Friday, December 3rd.

8.         ACTIVITY COMMITTEE:
Food Truck Update - Food trucks will be in the west parking lot this afternoon/evening, Thursday, November 18 starting at 4PM. American Asian and Amber Rose Eatery will be serving until about 7PM. The Fiesta Room will be set up for indoor dining as well as the back patio.
Join us on the back lawn starting at 2PM for outdoor games such as Corn Hole, croquet and ladder toss, then stay for Happy Hour and food truck dining!!
 
Holiday Luminaria Party - On Saturday, December 4th, we are having our holiday luminaria celebration, so grab your ugly Christmas sweater and meet up at the Village Center. We have food trucks and a variety of music to get you "in the spirit" of the season!! Starting at 4PM, BYOB and snacks for Happy Hour in the Fiesta Room where Crazy Rhythm will be playing until about 5:30. Food Trucks will start serving around 4PM for dining in the Fiesta Room. The fireplace and propane heaters will warm up the patio in time for dining alfresco. DJ Mike will be playing holiday music. Come share some holiday spirit with your Sunflower neighbors!
 
Game Night - We are moving Game Night this month to Thursday, December 2nd, starting at 6:30PM. As usual, we will have large round tables for Mexican Train and the smaller tables for cards, rummy cube and other games. Bring your beverages and snacks. We will have a variety of games and cards available to play or bring your favorite game for a night of fun. Bring your friends and neighbors or come alone and we will match you up with a group.
 
9.         FITNESS CLUB:
Strengthening Class by Marlene Spencer
Weight and Balance classes
Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30 to 11:30 AM for November and December (except Dec 16 which is 9:30 to 10:30 am)
No classes December 21st, December 23rd, Dec 27th, Dec, 30th
Also, No classes Jan 4th and Jan 6th
Times for classes are still 10:30 to 11:30 throughout the New Year
 
10.      POTLUCK Host and Kitchen Volunteers: We are in need of host/hostess for December and January potlucks. We also need volunteers to help in the kitchen for the potlucks. Anyone interested, please contact me at 540-538-6502 or susan@sifers.org.

11.      PICKLEBALL CLUB: All current Pickleball Club members and those who are wanting to become members who missed the meeting on Sunday, November 14, 2021, please pay your annual Pickleball Club dues at the Sunflower Center front desk.  You will need to fill out a new information form and pay $10.00 by check only. 

12.      TRAVEL CLUB: On January 21st we will be going to the Mesa Marketplace. Bus leaves at 9:30 and we'll be back around 5:30. You'll have three hours to shop and eat lunch if desired.  Bus will leave at 2:15 for a nearby Applebee's where your meal will be on your own.  Tickets are $35 plus $1 dues.  Sales dates in December are the 1st and 15th from 1:00 to 3:00.  
 
13.      SOCIAL CLUB: For those going to our dinner Saturday night:   We will be selling tickets for December 18th's event which will be a ham dinner followed by a holiday program.  Tickets are $10. 

14.      DANCE CLUB: The Dance Club is sponsoring the New Year's Eve Dance and tickets will be sold on Dec. 3rd & Dec. 15th.  The price has been reduced to $15.00 per person. Come and join the fun.  Bring your friends and neighbors. You do not need to be a member to attend.

15.      TECH CLUB: Our next help session is this Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. in the craft room. Come and get help or give help, either way it's all about tech!

16.      MARANA PRESENTATION: The Town of Marana will be holding a meeting on November 30th at 3:00pm in the Fiesta Room. The discussion will be about the Town's water sustainability outlook.

17.      SIDEWALK ISSUES/CONCERNS: If you see that a sidewalk needs repair and is by a public road, please contact Marana Public Works at 520-382-2600 to report the issues/concern. If you see that a sidewalk on the walking path along the wash needs repair, please let the front desk know.
 
18.      CHARTER CLUBS: If you are the president or treasurer of a charter club, you may have already received a call from the staff at Sunflower. If you have not, on 10/20 the Board of Directors approved to reinstate the charter club requirements. When changes are made please ensure management receives the updated information.
