1.         BOARD MEETINGS:
The Board of Directors will be meeting on November 17, 2021 for an open session Board Meeting at 10:00am in the Fiesta Room and via Zoom. Zoom login information will be sent out separately.
Directly following the Board meeting will be an Executive Session Meeting - closed session per A.R.S §33-1804(A) (3)(4)(5).
2.         SUN CATCHER ARTICLE WRITERS: Articles are due no later than November 12th for the December edition of the Sun Catcher.  Please keep articles under 250 words. Send Articles to

3.       PET REMINDERS: To those residents with pets, please remember to pick up after them. Per Arizona leash law, please ensure your dog is on leash and controlled when in any common area. 

4.         CHARTER CLUBS: If you are the president or treasurer of a charter club, you may have already received a call from the staff at Sunflower. If you have not, on 10/20 the Board of Directors approved to reinstate the charter club requirements. When changes are made please ensure management receives the updated information.

5.         HOLIDAY HOURS: The Village Center hours on November 24th will be from 7:30am-2:00pm and we will be CLOSED on Thanksgiving Day, November 25th.

6.         BINGO: We will have BINGO on November 23rd in the fiesta room starting at 5:30pm. Hope to see you there.

Life Enrichment Series - The Tucson Cactus and Succulent Society had to cancel their presentation for Friday November 12. However, we were able to arrange for Landscaper, Todd Wallin to talk about witches broom. This is an invasive desert species that presents huge problems in Sunflower as well as the surrounding area. Please join us for this free event in the Fiesta Room on 11/12 from 1:00 to 2:30 PM.
FREE POOL PARTY - Sponsored by the Activities Committee
FREE Pool Party on November 12, 2021 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. (New Time) Come enjoy cooling off and listening to the sweet sounds of music provided by our one and only Mike Foreman. You may bring your own food and drink as long as it is in unbreakable containers. This is an adult only Pool Party.
Karaoke - Louis Aquino will set up in the Fiesta Room on Tuesday, November 16 from 6:30 to 8:30. This is always a fun evening of singing and camaraderie. Bring your favorite beverages and snacks and sign up to sing your favorite songs. Solos, duets or groups, Louis has a huge collection of all the hits!
Food Trucks- Third Thursday Food Trucks- In the west parking lot, American Asian and La Colombiana will be back, serving their specialties from about 4PM till about 7PM. As usual, the Fiesta Room and Patio will be set up for your dining pleasure. Since the weather is so beautiful this time of year, we are bringing out the games! Corn Hole, Croquet, Ladder Toss and other outdoor games will be set up on the lawn by the patio, starting at 2PM until about 4 or 4:30 PM. Challenge your neighbors to a round or two of your favorite game, bring your Happy Hour beverages and snacks and stay for dinner under the stars!!!
8.         FITNESS CLUB: All classes on November 11th will be cancelled and will return on November 16th as normal. Thank you!

Times for classes are still 10:30  to  11:30 throughout the New Year

9.         GARDEN CLUB: Vintage Gardeners will be in the clubhouse lobby on Tuesday, November 16, 9-11 a.m. for ticket sales to the members only Christmas luncheon at Firebirds on December 13. The $25 cost is all-inclusive. Annual dues are $10 and can be paid at that time. New members are always welcome. Instead of a gift exchange, please bring small-sized toiletry items for Sr. Jose's women's shelter. Sunflower residents are also encouraged to drop off such items.
10.      POTLUCK Host and Kitchen Volunteers: We are in need of host/hostess for December and January potlucks. We also need volunteers to help in the kitchen for the potlucks. Anyone interested, please contact me at 540-538-6502 or

11.      PICKLEBALL CLUB: The Annual Pickleball Club Meeting
WHEN:    November 14, 2021
TIME:      1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
WHERE:  Patio and Barbecue Area
WHAT:    Annual Pickleball Club Meeting to Elect Officers 
All current Pickleball Club members and those who are wanting to become members are invited to our Annual Pickleball Club meeting.  We will be electing officers at this meeting.  Please bring $10.00 for the membership fee.  Food will be provided by the Pickleball Club.  Please bring your own drinks.  RSVP to
All current Pickleball Club members who are interested in running for an office, please contact Terri Lackey at 520-797-0349.  Our current offices are President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.  In order to run for an officer, you must have access to a computer and word processing software.

12.      DANCE CLUB: The Dance Club is sponsoring the New Year's Eve Dance and tickets will be sold on Dec. 3rd & Dec. 15th.  The price has been reduced to $15.00 per person. Come and join the fun.  Bring your friends and neighbors. You do not need to be a member to attend.
13.      GENEALOGY CLUB: The Sunflower Genealogy Society November meeting program will be by Prof. John Phillip Colletta on "How to Write Biography" held via Zoom on Tuesday, November 16, at 2pm. The video program will help you pull together the information you have gathered on your family in an appealing way. Colletta will discuss how to take your family's vital statistics and create engaging stories by incorporating other elements to make them alive.
14.      TECH CLUB: In response to questions, about using the Technology Lab computers and printers, below is what you need to know:
HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS ($30 for 1-2 people) - unlimited use of the lab, for personal use  only, not club or committee work.
CLUB MEMBERS ($50) - unlimited use of the lab for club use only (e.g. Gardening, Veterans, Genealogy, etc.not for committee work. Bonus!! Now Club Membership includes exclusive use of a professional Zoom account.
ALL COMMITTEES - use the services available at the Front Desk. The HOA pays for printing costs of committees (ARC, Finance, etc.).
For Example: If you are a paid household member of the Tech Club, and also a member of the Finance Committee, please give any committee printing needs to Front Desk.  If you are a paid household member of the Tech Club and also doing work for the Gardening Club, the Gardening Club, needs to purchase a Club Membership for $50.00.

15.      MARANA PRESENTATION: The Town of Marana will be holding a meeting on November 30th at 3:00pm in the Fiesta Room. The discussion will be about the Town's water sustainability outlook.

16.      2021-2022 RESIDENT DIRECTORY: Great news, the Resident Directories are ready for pick-up. There is one FREE directory per household.  The cost to purchase an extra directory is $1.00.  Please request your directory at the front desk.  Thank you.

17.      SIDEWALK ISSUES/CONCERNS: If you see that a sidewalk is in need or repair, please contact Marana Public Works at 520-382-2600 to report the issues/concern.
