1.         ACTIVITY COMMITTEE - Sunflower Comedy Theater - Mark your calendars and get your tickets for the 3 One Act Plays coming to the Fiesta Room on October 2, 2021 from 6:30 to 8:30. On October 3, 2021 there's a matinee from 2:30 to 4:30.
Refreshments will be served after the performances.
The plays and skits are funny and performed by your neighbors.
Tickets are on sale September 21 from 2:30 to 3:30 and September 24, from 9:00 to 11:00 in the lobby.

Cost is $10.00
Masks are not required, but it's optional.
2.         ELECTION COMMITTEE - CANDIDATE QUESTIONS: The question box has been placed on the credenza in the Village Center. If you have questions for our Board member candidates, please stop by and add a question to the box. Or please email directly. This will be out until September 28, 2021.
3.         VILLAGE CENTER HOURS: Effective Monday, September 20, 2021, the Village Center will be back to regular operating hours. Monday and Wednesday 7:30am-7:00pm; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 7:30am - 9:00pm; Sunday 11:00am-5:00pm. Thank you all for your understanding and patience!
4.         POLICY CHANGES: The Board of Directors approved at the September BOD meeting to post the revisions to three (3) of the policies for 30-days. The changes will be for Policy 6.01 Facilities Rental Policy, Procedure for Non-Catered Food Events and Procedure for Association Sponsored Catered Food Events. Policies are posted at the Village Center and will be posted to the website for review. We ask that you review and add or forward any comments to Andrea Eisenhauer at
5.         MARANA NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING: The Town of Marana will be at the Village Center on September 30th the meeting will be from 3:00pm-4:30pm. Essentially, the Town is proposing a half-cent sales tax increase. This meeting will be a presentation regarding that proposal, as well as an opportunity for the public to ask questions and share any concerns.
The Town of Marana has posted a public notice of intent for Council to consider a half-cent sales tax rate increase for the purpose of funding certain projects.
Please join us in person or via Zoom, light refreshments and cookies will be served. Zoom information will be sent out separately once we get closer to the date.
6.         POOL GATE AND INFORMATION: After further discussion at the September Board meeting, the east pool gate will no longer be open during the Village Center's operating hours. If you are coming to the fitness center or pool when the center is open, please come thru the center, scan at the entry doors and then you will need to scan your proximity cards again at the fitness doors or interior pool gate. If the proximity card is not scanned in both location it will not allow you access. REMINDERS: the pool and fitness center will remain closed from 12:30pm-1:30pm for daily cleaning, all guest must register at the front desk and must be accompanied by the Sunflower resident at all times. Please ensure all rules are being obeyed. If you see rules not being followed please let staff know, you can come into the center or call us at 520-572-9780. Alerting our staff would be much appreciated. This way, we are able to address any issue(s).  
7.         BYOP Ticket Sales - Bring your own Potluck: Ticket sales are this Friday 1pm-3pm in the lobby. $2 each plus a side or No charge if bringing a Main dish to share. Event is Saturday Sept 25th - 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Come join the fun and meet your neighbors - stop by for details! Appetizer and dessert provided.

You are invited to the Free Sunflower Community MUSIC UNDER THE STARS event. Don't miss this twice a year special event. It will be held at the Village Center back patio on the grass. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the music of GIANT BLUE featuring Anna Warr. Giant Blue provides high-quality jazz-rock and blues with Anna Warr on vocals, a monster horn section and a HOT rhythm section.

Life Enrichment Series - As the possibility of travel continues to open more and more, our next Life Enrichment Series is Pleasurebent Travel who will give a presentation on travel options. Join us on Tuesday, September 21 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM in the Fiesta Room. Get your free raffle ticket at the door to enter for a free trip!
Art Expo - Tuesday, September 28 from 2:30PM to 4 PM in the Fiesta Room, the Activities Committee is sponsoring A piece of my heArt Art Exhibition. You are invited to view, up close and personal, September's art display painted by Sunflower residents guided by one of our resident artists, Sharon Fannin. Sharon's "Painting Uncorked" class brings out the budding artists in her students and they will be on hand to discuss their art work and their experience creating their first masterpiece. Light refreshments will be served.
Pool Party - Activities Committee is sponsoring a Free Pool Party Friday, September 17 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Come cool off and enjoy the music of our one and only Mike Foreman. You may bring your own food and drink as long as it is in unbreakable containers. This is an adult only Pool Party.
9.         TRAVEL CLUB: AAM, our management company, will be sending out a link to a survey today for the Sunflower Travel Club.  We would appreciate it if all residents, whether you are a club member or non-club member, we ask you to please take the time to fill out the survey.  This will help us to plan trips for the upcoming season.  Suggestions are also appreciated.

10.      DANCE CLUB: The Dance Club will be having our Halloween Spooktacular Party Saturday, October 30th, 6 pm to 8:30 pm.  The tickets are $12 pp and sale dates are Tuesday, September 28th 12:00pm - 2:00pm and Tuesday, October 5th, 12:00pm - 2:00pm.  We'll have a DJ, prizes, photos and more.  Get your costumes together and join us for a much-needed fun night.  Best costumes will be decided by attendees.

11.      SOCIAL CLUB: If you purchased a ticket for this coming Saturday's dinner and entertainment we're looking forward to seeing you at 6:00 p.m.  Tickets will go on sale that evening for October 16th's "Fabulous Fall" dinner.  Our entertainment for the night will be Wally Lawder, a "folk singer/songwriter".  Bring your $10 so you can purchase your ticket! 

12.      GENEALOGY SOCIETY: Join the Sunflower Genealogy Society Zoom meeting featuring Jacque Kasper on Tuesday, September 21 at 2pm.  Jacque will present From an Unknown to a Remarkable Life, about her research and biography of Thomas Robertson Sorin, a pioneer Arizona newspaperman and mining enthusiast.  Her talk will review the databases, online books and newspapers, and documents in archives she used in her research. Join us for this very informative program on Arizona history and research resources.

13.      COMMUNITY YARD SALE: Saturday, October 16th.  Sign-up at the front desk. Fee is $5.00. Deadline for signing up and getting on the map is Tuesday, October 12th.
