1.         ELECTION COMMITTEE:
Help!  The Election Committee needs one more volunteer.  If you have the time and inclination we sure can use your help.  Just fill out a volunteer form which you can get at the front desk.  I'm saying "Please".
 
CANDIDATE QUESTIONS: The question box has been placed on the credenza in the Village Center. If you have questions for our Board member candidates, please stop by and add a question to the box. Or please email aeisenhauer@aamaz.com directly. This will be out until September 28, 2021.
 
2.         SPECIAL BOARD MEETING: The Board of Directors will be meeting on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 10:00am in the fiesta room and via zoom for a Special Board Meeting to discuss the various CIF projects. More information will be sent out separately.
 
3.         BINGO: We had another record pot last month, $225.00.  Join us for BINGO in the Fiesta room next Tuesday and have a great evening with your friends.  $10 gets you 12 games, including the Rosie Special.  Of course, if you are a fast dauber you can double up and double the chance to win!!  Doors open at 5:30, Cage rolls at 6:00.  See you there.
 
4.         FITNESS CLUB: Fitness Club will have a meeting in the Fiesta Room on Friday, Sept. 10 at 1:30.  All members and anyone interested in joining are invited to attend.
 
5.         ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE: Club Expo - The Club Expo is scheduled for Saturday, November 6 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM in the Fiesta Room. We have 13 clubs and groups signed up so far and we need at least 15, preferably 20. If you want to feature your club or group, and have an opportunity to talk about all the fun things you do, please email activities.sf@gmail.com and register for the Expo.
 
Ticket Sales - Ticket sales for the One Act Plays is scheduled for Friday, September 10 from 1PM to 3PM in the Lobby. Tickets are $10 each. There is a maximum capacity for each play of 60 people. Sales are also scheduled for Friday, September 24 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
 
Life Enrichment Series - Mark your calendars for a Town Hall with Marana City Manager Terry Rozema and Police Chief Reuben Nunez Tuesday September 14 10:00am-11:30am in the Fiesta Room.
 
Art Expo - Tuesday, September 28 from 2:30PM to 4 PM in the Fiesta Room, the Activities Committee is sponsoring A piece of my heArt Art Exhibition. You are invited to view, up close and personal, September's art display painted by Sunflower residents guided by one of our resident artists, Sharon Fannin. Sharon's "Painting Uncorked" class brings out the budding artists in her students and they will be on hand to discuss their art work and their experience creating their first masterpiece. Light refreshments will be served.
 
Pool Party - A free pool party will be held on Friday, September 17 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Music will be provided by our resident DJ, Mike Foreman. Pool parties are adults only. Bring your beverages and food in non-glass containers and enjoy time with family and friends. The next pool party is scheduled for October 22nd.
 
6.         TRAVEL CLUB: AAM, our management company, will be sending out a link to a survey next week for the Sunflower Travel Club.  We would appreciate it if all residents, whether you are a club member or non-club member, we ask you to please take the time to fill out the survey.  This will help us to plan trips for the upcoming season.  Suggestions are also appreciated.

7.         DANCE CLUB: The Dance Club will be having our Annual Halloween Party Saturday, October 30th, 6 pm to 8:30 pm.  The tickets are $12 pp and sale dates are Tuesday, September 28th 12 - 2 pm and Tuesday, October 5th, 12 - 2 pm.  We'll have a DJ, prizes and more.  Get your costumes together and join us for a much-needed fun night.  Best costumes will be decided by attendees.  Attention Line Dancers!  Please note that there will be NO Line Dance on Friday, August 10th. The CIF meeting will be in the Fiesta Room and they would like you to attend or participate on ZOOM.

8.         SUN CATCHER ARTICLE WRITERS: Articles are due no later than September 12th for the October edition of the Sun Catcher.  Please keep articles under 250 words. Send Articles to LChase@AAMAZ.com.  Thank you.

9.         GENEALOGY SOCIETY: Join the Sunflower Genealogy Society Zoom meeting featuring Jacque Kasper on Tuesday, September 21 at 2pm.  Jacque will present From an Unknown to a Remarkable Life, about her research and biography of Thomas Robertson Sorin, a pioneer Arizona newspaperman and mining enthusiast.  Her talk will review the databases, online books and newspapers, and documents in archives she used in her research. Join us for this very informative program on Arizona history and research resources.
