1.         WEED CONTROL:
Due to the near record amount of rainfall received thus far this monsoon season, the entire desert southwest is exploding with weeds.  Pre-emergent applications which historically suppressed weeds from germinating were diluted with the volume of rain this year and have become mostly ineffective.  Post emergent treatments are harmful to the environment if applied within 24 hours of the next rain event; therefore, the need to wait until a dry spell allowed the weeds to flourish.  AAM is continuing to address this situation with the landscape contractor and will provide updates to the community until this matter is rectified.
2.         ERRORS IN THE SEPTEMBER SUN CATCHER CALENDAR: Bacchus is listed on the calendar on September 22nd and 29th. The correct date is September 22nd.
The ART EXHIBITION on September 28th is listed in the Craft Room but will be in the Fiesta Room.
Partners with Challenges Support Group: PWC Group is listed on the calendar for September 21st. The correct date is September 28th. The group meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month in the Craft Room
3.         ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE: Game Night: Friday, September 3 at 6:30 to 8:30 in the Fiesta Room. Join us for Mexican Train, Yahtzee, Mah Jongg, Corn Hole, Rummy Cube and other games. Bring your beverage, snacks, friends and neighbors for an evening of fun and games. If you have a favorite game bring that along. There is no charge to attend. We will have round tables set up for Mexican Train and larger group play.
Club Expo: We have so many new residents, it would be great to show off all of the groups and clubs we have for them to enjoy. If you want to feature your club or group, and have an opportunity to talk about all the fun things you do, please email activities.sf@gmail and register for the Club Expo coming in November. We need at least 15 clubs and groups, but have only 5 registered so far.
4.         SOCIAL CLUB: Tickets for our September 18th event will be on sale on Monday, August 30th, and again on Wednesday, September 8th, from 10:00 to Noon on both days.  We will be serving a dinner from Cracker Barrel.  Our entertainment for the evening will be the Tucson Prunes who will dance for us.   Tickets are $10 and dues are $20 to join if you weren't a member in 2020.
5.         CLUB SURVEYS: Several clubs have and will be submitting surveys to all residents. The clubs are eager for resident input so they can plan desirable events/classes. A few minutes of your time along with any suggestions are appreciated and helpful in making our Sunflower clubs a success.

6.         COMMUNITY FALL YARD SALE: Saturday, October 16th.  Sign-up at the front desk. Fee is $5.00. Deadline for signing up and getting on the map is Tuesday, October 12th.
