2.         VILLAGE CENTER WATER SHUT OFF: The Backflow testing will take place on Wednesday, August 11th between 8:00am-12:00pm. Water at the Village Center may vary, mostly likely it will be shut off for roughly an hour between those times.

The last time to get your tickets will be on Monday, August 9th, from 10:00 to Noon.  Tickets are $10.   Members from 2020 will have their memberships carried forward for 2021.  New members will pay reduced dues of $2.00 for 2021.

4.         LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE: The rains are here! The monsoon storms typically bring, along with wind and lightening, a deluge of water. The 2021 season has done that in spades; July 2021 has been the wettest month on record in Tucson and we are still two months away from the official end of the season. This is a welcome relief from the 2020 “nonsoon” season. This is a good time to learn about ways to take advantage of all this water and plan ahead for next year. The following links will offer you more information about the monsoon season in Tucson:
This City of Tucson page about watering with the seasons as well as other links related to Smartscaping practices; which was previously mentioned in the Feb. 25th communicator:

These two links are from “This is Tucson” website which talks about planting in the monsoon season; plus, info on native plants:

6.         BINGO: Please join us for Rosie’s Sunflower Bingo next Tuesday the 10th.  Doors open at 5:30, the cage rolls at 6:00.  There was a $200.00 pot last month, the more attendee’s, the higher the prizes!  See you there.
7.         CRAZY RHYTHM: Crazy Rhythm will be performing this Friday from the Fiesta Room.  Pianist, Paul Mowatt, will be the sole entertainer this week, featuring some of his favorite and seldom heard pieces.  Bill, the bass player has been away on business in Mexico, and Allen, horn player, is temporarily incapacitated due to an injury.  We expect everything will be back to normal soon.
