1.        COMMUNITY SURVEYS: Some of you may remember the Board of Directors has approved to allow clubs and Committees to create a basic survey which would be distributed to the entire Community. If you are part of a club that is interested in sending out a Community Survey please contact Andrea at aeisenhauer@aamaz.com for the specifics. This would need to be completed prior to September to ensure it is in the current fiscal year. This may be a good resource to poll the Community on various topics.

2.         BOCCE COURT REPAIRS: The crew has started the Bocce court repairs. Currently we do not have a date of completion. We ask that you please avoid the area for everyones safety.

3.         ROSIE'S SUNFLOWER BINGO is back.  Next Tuesday in the Fiesta room we will be rolling the BINGO cage again.  Doors open at 5:30, games start promptly at 6:00.  Come for the fun, and leave with winnings!

4.         ELECTION COMMITTEE / BOARD NOMINTIONS: I am happy to report that the Election Committee now has six members (thank-you to our new members).  Our next committee meeting will be July 22nd.  Information will be coming to you by email.

Applications for Board of Directors remains at 0.  May I remind you that we need 5 to fill 4 seats if we are to maintain a 7-member Board.  I hope it's not going to be a final hour rush to pull this together.  With only 5 members on the Board the workload is incredible.  Please step up to help keep our Community running like a place we can all be proud of.

5.         ACTITIES COMMITTEE EVENT:  The Activities Committee, Life Enrichment Series, is pleased to offer a very interesting topic for all.

Sunflower resident, Dr. Allen Fannin, PhD. will be presenting MIND-BODY MEDICINE FROM 10:00am-12:00am on Thursday, July 22nd in the Fiesta Room. Dr. Fannin will discuss advances in health care options and personal methods that are effective for our self-healing and daily maintenance.

NO charge.  Emailing to: activities.sf@gmail.com can be helpful for a reservation but not necessary.

6.         MAH JONGG: Mah Jongg players will be meeting in the library at the village center at 1:00pm every Sunday afternoon. Either experienced or not, all are welcome. Individual instruction will be available if needed. Come and enjoy a fun afternoon with friends and bring your game and 2021 card if you have them. Questions? Call Lynn at 520-268-7784.

7.       GENEALOGY: On Tuesday, July 20, at 2pm, the Sunflower Genealogy Society will meet via Zoom for a program on internet census research.  Prof. John Philip Colletta will guide us through various internet sites and focus on census data, explaining the many types of census records, the information they contain, and the changes that may make the research difficult. Look for your email with the Zoom link to attend and find your genealogical gems!

8.         MAH JONGG: Every Wednesday from 9:00am-11:00am in the Library. Any questions, call Anne at 572-4033.

9.         SUN CATCHER ARTICLE WRITERS: Reminder the deadline for the Sun Catcher articles is July 12th for the August Sun Catcher. Please keep the articles to 250 words or less and send to Lori Chase at lchase@aamaz.com.  Thank you.

10.      Reminder: Saturday, July 10th - "Summer in The City" Happy Hour and Food Trucks with DJ Mike. Jozarelli's Italian Food and Dankfire Fare will be in the west parking lot, serving from 4 to 8PM. The bocce courts may be under construction, so we may have to move things around a bit. The Fiesta Room will be set up for Happy Hour (BYOB), dining and dancing from 4PM to 8:30PM and the back patio will be available if you choose to eat outside.

The July pool party will be held on Friday, July 16th from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The Pool Party is for adults only, age 18 or better. Bring your beverages and food in non-glass containers and join us for the sounds of summer by DJ Mike. Rocky's Gourmet Italian Ice will be back for the August pool party on Friday, August 20. Last week's Communicator had an incorrect August date.

11.      FAKE E-MAIL SCAMS: We have been informed there are additional fake emails claiming to be from government agencies wanting to give out COVID-19 impact payments in return for personal information.
Here is a  link to the AARP site concerning fake relief payments, fake Covid-19 cures and other scams.

12.      DANCE & ENTERTAINMENT CLUB: The Club will be meeting on Friday, July 9th at 10:00 am in lieu of the Advance Line Dance Class. Anyone interested in finding out more about the Club and/or anyone with ideas please join us in the Fiesta Room. It's time to get our schedule of events planned.
