1.         VILLAGE CENTER HOURS CHANGE: In observance to the 4th of July holiday, on Sunday July 4th the hours for the Village Center will be from 11:00am – 2:00pm.

Starting July 1st, the Village Center hours will change. The new hours will be Monday thru Friday from 7:00am to 7:00pm, with the exception of the second Tuesday of every month. The hours will be from 7:00am to 9:00pm. On Saturday the hours will be from 7:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday from 11:00am to 5:00pm.

The hours will be changed again once staffing is in place. We will continue to keep you updated with the changes and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

2.         BOCCE COURT REPAIRS: Starting today, Thursday, July 1st and continuing into Friday, July 2nd, the demo work for the Bocce Courts will begin.
The additional repairs will be beginning next week. We ask that you please avoid the area where the crew will be working for everyones safety.

3.         PLEASE CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING FOR THE SUNFLOWER ELECTION COMMITTEE.  There are currently 4 vacant positions including Committee Chair and Recorder.  This Standing Committee is an integral part of the Community and the process of electing Board Members.  July 1st is the start of this process so time to get members is now critical.

If the Committee membership is unable to fill the vacant positions, the Sunflower election process may revert to the Management Company.

4.         MAH JONGG: Mah Jongg players will be meeting in the library at the village center at 1:00pm every Sunday afternoon. Either experienced or not, all are welcome. Individual instruction will be available if needed. Come and enjoy a fun afternoon with friends and bring your game and 2021 card if you have them. Questions? Call Lynn at 520-268-7784.

5.       CRAZY RHYTHM MUSIC: Come relax and reminisce to the sounds of the Big Band era presented by Paul Mowatt on piano, Allen Fannin on Trumpet and Bill Christi on Bass. Requests are always welcome although it may take a week or two for us to locate the music and rehearse. Your presence is always greatly appreciated. Thanks for your support.

6.         MAH JONGG: Every Wednesday from 9:00am-11:00am in the Library. Any questions, call Anne at 572-4033 or Leslie at 297-4833.

7.         ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE: Jozarelli's Italian Street Food made the first ever food truck appearance at Sunflower.  Thank you to everyone who braved the hot weather to come out and support this event. We learned a lot from its debut and the next event will be even better.  We plan to locate the trucks a bit farther out in the west parking lot to provide you with more shade when waiting and will set up a few chairs as well.

Fork & Fire had to cancel their appearance scheduled for "Summer in The City" Happy Hour and Food Trucks with DJ Mike. However, Jozarelli's Italian Food Trucks will be in the west parking lot, and I am working with Dankfire Fare to bring their Philly Cheese Steaks and other menu items to the event.  The Fiesta Room will be set up for Happy Hour (BYOB), dining and dancing from 4PM to 8:30PM and the back patio will be available if you choose to eat outside.

The July pool party will be held on Friday, July 16 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM.  Bring your beverages and food in non-glass containers and join us for the sounds of summer by DJ Mike. Rocky's Gourmet Italian Ice will be on vacation, but Steve and Cindy promise they will be back for the August pool party on Friday, August 17.

8.         SIDEWALK REPAIRS: If you come upon a sidewalk, that needs repair or replacement in Sunflower, please reach out to the Town of Marana, via phone 520-382-2536 or through their website:  https://www.maranaaz.gov/citizenfeedback.  If you use the website link, you can upload pictures of the problem(s) and pinpoint the exact area to be repaired.
