1.         LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE:  Living in the desert, we are all aware of how important it is to be good stewards of our precious water resources. Previously, we provided a link to help demonstrate how Smartscaping, can provide an attractive landscape and still use our water wisely.

One aspect of the current CIF proposal is funding for Smart Irrigation and other elements of Smartscaping as we to begin to implement this transformation to a more appropriate and sustainable landscape. Smart Irrigation includes, among other components, the use of specific controllers for our irrigation systems. Unlike traditional controllers that operate on a preset programmed schedule, smart irrigation controllers monitor weather, soil conditions, evaporation and plant water use to automatically adjust the watering schedule to actual conditions of the site. Various research studies in a variety of scenarios have shown that smart controllers can reduce water use anywhere from 20 to 50 percent versus traditional controllers.

If you'd like to know more about what you can do personally, this City of Tucson page has very good information on irrigation as well as other links related to Smartscaping practices: https://www.tucsonaz.gov/water/landscape

2.         ELECTION COMMITTEE:   Attention recent new homeowners. There are 2 e-mail lists used to communicate with Sunflower homeowners. One list is maintained for the weekly "Communicator" that is sent out every Thursday evening which is generated at the request of the homeowner for a subscription to "The Communicator". The other list is the "Official Account" of the homeowner which contains the mailing address and e-mail address of the homeowner when a home is purchased in Sunflower. It is this Official Account e-mail address that is used to send out the electronic election ballot for the upcoming CIF election.

For new homeowners, this Official Account mailing address and e-mail address should be checked to make sure they are correct. To do so contact the Village Center at (520)572-9780 and ask the attendant to check your account for your address accuracy to make sure they are correct in the system so you will receive the electronic election ballot on March 8, 2021 or the paper ballot mailed on March 10, 2021. If your e-mail address is not correct, or you have a new e-mail address, ask the attendant to make the correction right then. The attendant will be happy to do so.

3.      AMENITY SIGN-UPS:  We wanted to remind homeowners that when you sign up for the pool amenities, each household member must sign up individually per slot. The pool offers up to 23 reservation per time slot per day.
