1.         CORE: The Core Team in conjunction with the Tech Club has been working on making sure Sunflower Residents have everything they need. If you are having any complications with getting groceries, prescriptions, etc., we have some information for you.
We have connected with Interfaith Community Services (ICS) Senior Services. They have many ways to help you and welcome your call. They can be reached at (520) 297-6049 x 4223. They suggest you contact their office after 10:30 am or 11:00 am as they tend to be very busy in the early morning.
Another resource is the Pima Council on Aging (Sheryl Richard). Her contact number is (520) 305-3403. She has assured us they are trying to work on meal delivery as well. Please make note or print out this information and keep it for further reference.
2.         LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE: Our Sunflower landscape is an important aspect of our community. The Board of Directors and Landscape Committee are doing some exciting work to preserve and enhance this valuable asset. To keep the community informed about the process and our vision, we will be providing a series of links to informative websites that focus on the Smartscape approach that we are following. As an introduction, we encourage you to enjoy this clear and concise overview by the U of A Cooperative Extension: "Landscape Considerations for Homeowners Associations: Save Money, Be Safe, Look Good" at Be sure to tune in for our next installment in a few weeks.
3.         VETERANS CLUB: SUNFLOWER COMMUNITY VETERANS CLUB MEMBERSHIP CORRECTION FROM SUN CATCHER ARTICLE. If you receive an e-mail that is asking you to purchase a gift card, the senders e-mail may have been hacked. Please call the person directly who sent it to you to double check. Steer on the side of caution when it comes to your funds.
7.         PET REMINDER: Please remember pets need to remain on a leash and controlled by the owners at all times. Per Arizona's Leash Law (A.R.S. § 11-1012) restricts, if and when a pet owner may allow his or her dog to roam off-leash. The universal law aims to help citizens feel safer while walking around the public areas, such as parks and fields. Also, please ensure you are cleaning up after your pet.
